Winnie-the-Pooh

A. A. Milne (1882–1956) was an English author, best known for creating the beloved children's character Winnie-the-Pooh. Born in London, Milne initially pursued a career in writing for adults, working as a playwright and journalist. However, his most enduring legacy comes from his creation of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, which began with Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and continued with The House at Pooh Corner (1928).

Milne’s gentle storytelling, combined with the whimsical adventures of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and other characters from the Hundred Acre Wood, made the series an instant classic. The stories are known for their warmth, wit, and timeless lessons on friendship, kindness, and the simple pleasures of life.

Although Milne wrote a wide range of works, including plays, novels, and poetry, his reputation rests largely on the Pooh books. These works, beloved by children and adults alike, have been translated into numerous languages and continue to charm generations around the world.
